Announcement! Damage Indicator available on the server!

Post by Sealand on Sat Mar 30, 2013 1:29 am

First of all, I would like to thank Squii for telling me of this little mod earlier today.

Secondly, I would like to thank our Servermaster Scope for downloading it shortly after threatening me.

I'm proud to announce we've added a little toy for those on the server who are willing to use it. It's a health bar and damage indicator, similar to those in MMORPGs like World of Warcraft. It will also give you number indications on how much damage you're doing.

A link to the download and set up information is [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

It's entirely optional, but for the players benefit. I personally was mostly hoping to use it for events, be they our Loremaster's of events other players wish to pull off.

The set up is simple enough. First of all, you need a completely clean jar, meaning no Optifine either(don't worry, you can add it back afterwards). You will need to download MC Forge and install it to a .jar like you would Optifine. After that, you will need to run Minecraft up again for it to generate some new folders. You will notice under the Multiplayer tab a 'Mod' tab will appear. Going back to .minecraft, you will find a mod folder. Simply throw the Damage inside and you're golden. You can add whatever you want in, including Optfine.

Of course, there is even a simpler way to do this! Through the use of the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Personally, I would suggest this option more, as it's far cleaner and won't fuck up with your jar. WARNING!: When using this option, you will need to enter in Forge FIRST, run Minecraft through the special launcher, exit Minecraft, open up Magic Minecraft Launcher and throw in Damage Indicator/whatever else you wish. Ignore what Magic Minecraft Launcher says about Damage Indicator or whatever not detecting mods. The Launcher itself is very reliable, but gets a little confused sometimes.... Thanks go out to Ash for helping me figure this out.

If you need any help, feel free to PM me or ask in this thread. And happy mining, folks.
